There is a common idea that several certification options for the use of CO2 neutral fuels could be considered to anticipate future regulatory requirements. These options could be technical devices or digital solutions, and even a combination of both.
In order to progress the project, it is proposed to set up a broad working group representing the entire automotive value chain in order to take a holistic approach, by exploring and analysing all aspects, including vehicle type approval, fuel specifications, storage and distribution processes, logistics and retail requirements, and policies and regulations.
The working group is expected to comprise representatives from the car & truck industry and their supply chain, fuel manufacturers and suppliers, logistics and distribution, and the retail including equipment and marketing.
